Sedona Neighborhood Guide

Sedona Arizona is a small town but is fairly spread out with unique neighborhoods along Scenic Route 89A and the Red Rock Scenic Byway (SR 179), two of the most scenic drives in America! Whether you prefer the bustling energy of downtown or the serenity of a desert oasis, you’re sure to find a slice of Sedona heaven to suit your style.

UPTOWN SEDONA

Backdropped by dramatic red rock views, Uptown Sedona is the heart of the City and the best neighborhood to experience the true spirit of Sedona. While Uptown is the main tourist hub and maybe a little more crowded than the outer lying neighborhoods, you’re conveniently and centrally located within walking distance to quaint cobblestone walkways lined with art galleries, diverse shopping, enticing restaurants, sidewalk cafes, themed pubs and late night bars. Uptown is a safe and easy-to-walk neighborhood with plenty of tourist shuttle buses and adventure tour agencies ready to show you the best of Sedona.

WEST SEDONA

West Sedona is a quiet, easy-to-walk residential neighborhood with some of the best red rock views in Sedona! Located in close proximity to State Route 89A, staying in West Sedona offers easy access to endless recreational activities, local landmarks, and Sedona's top attractions with frequent shuttle buses, local tours, and trailheads all on your doorstep. West Sedona has a true local community vibe with parks for picnics and BBQs, a skate park and bike park, a sports center with a swimming pool, and a cinema. For evening entertainment, you’ll find some of Sedona’s finest restaurants, casual eateries, and local pubs with exceptional views of Sedona's towering crimson cliffs.

The communities in the Verde Valley are only 20 minutes from Sedona and a short drive to the “Wickedest Town in the West”, Jerome.

Getting Around Sedona

Sedona is a small town and public transportation is very limited. There are a few taxi services, limited Uber, and the hop-on hop-off Sedona Trolley but we highly recommend guests have their own car to experience the best of the area during their stay. Other forms of transportation available in the area include the Verde Valley LINX Public Transport, the Sedona Shuttle (only operable Thursday through Sunday to select popular trailheads), Lyft (limited), and several rental companies providing rental machines for off-road adventures.
